The dashboard
What is outstanding and overdue, what you have billed this year, and your latest invoices and quotes.
Open the dashboard
The dashboard is the first page you see after signing in. To get back to it from anywhere, click the Invoice 14 logo at the left of the top bar. The buttons at the top right start a New invoice or a New quote. The quote button only appears on plans that include quotes.

Show or hide amounts
Amounts are hidden every time you open the dashboard, so nobody sees your figures if you open the app in a café or share your screen. Hidden amounts show as ••••.
- Click the eye button at the top right, just left of the new-document buttons (Show amounts), to reveal the totals and the amounts in both lists.
- Click it again (Hide amounts) to hide them.
The dashboard doesn’t remember your choice. Amounts are hidden again the next time you open it. The invoice and quote lists and the reports always show amounts.
Read the totals
The four cards at the top sum up your invoicing:
- Outstanding: what customers still owe you on issued invoices, after any partial payments, and how many invoices are awaiting payment. With IRPF, this is the amount due after withholding.
- Overdue: the part of that which is past its due date, in red, and how many invoices it covers. Invoices without a due date never count as overdue here.
- Billed in (this year): the total of invoices issued this calendar year, by issue date, including VAT. Drafts and voided invoices aren’t included. The line under it shows how many drafts you haven’t issued yet.
- Open quotes: the value of quotes that are still in draft or sent and haven’t been accepted, declined or converted yet.
If you invoice in more than one currency, each card shows one line per currency. Amounts are never converted.
The dashboard is a quick overview. For figures by quarter, by VAT rate or by customer, and for what to put on your tax returns, use Reports.
Recent invoices and quotes
Recent invoices and Recent quotes list the five documents you created most recently, with their number (drafts show “(draft)”), customer, status and total. Click a number to open the document, or View all to go to the full list. A sent quote past its validity date shows as expired.
Finish setting up
While your business profile is missing any of the details an invoice legally needs, a yellow banner at the top says Finish setting up your business profile and lists what is missing: legal name, tax ID, address line 1, postal code or city. You can’t issue invoices until they are filled in, but you can save drafts. Click Go to Settings in the banner, fill in the fields and save. The banner then goes away. See Your business profile.
A brand-new workspace has no invoices or quotes yet, so the dashboard shows a short checklist instead of the totals: set your details in Settings, add a customer, then create your first invoice.
See how many invoices you have left
On plans with an invoice limit, a line above the page title shows how many invoices you have issued in the current period, for example “3 of 14 invoices used this year.” The View plans link next to it opens Billing. Plans without a limit don’t show the line.

Only issuing uses up the allowance. Drafts don’t count. See Plans and billing for the limits of each plan.
